Jodie and Ben’s Wedding at Rhinefield House - Part One

Seeing a herd of deer and several wild rabbits out of the window when you’re getting ready for your wedding has to be a good omen. We had quite a wild view of the New Forest from the window of Jodie’s hotel room as she got ready for her wedding at Rhinefield House.

When we arrived at the hotel Jodie was being tended to the excellent Pam Wrigley who did a sterling job of both her hair and her make-up. Ian met up with Ben and his groomsmen downstairs as they prepared for the ceremony out in the garden.

That’s Ben on the phone to Jodie. If you’re playing by the traditional “morning of the wedding” rules it’s fine to talk…

but probably best not to come up to the bridal suite…

There were a few tears shed when a few of the lady family members popped up to see how Jodie was getting on. And she hadn’t even got her dressed on yet!

Jodie’s very pretty dress was a Maggie Sottero and she treated herself to a pair of white Jimmy Choo shoes too.

The room was filling up quickly downstairs as guests gathered in the Kings Room for pre-ceremony drinks. Then, after a short walk downstairs it was time for them to get wed. The ceremony took place in the hotel’s Grand Hall.

Continuing on from Part One of Jodie and Ben’s Wedding post at Rhinefield House…

I love the addition of some fresh blueberries on this chocolate feast of a cake. It’s such a simple idea but really gives it a twist.

Every guest had a “Do Not Open” envelope on the table. Ben revealed he’d put a bet on the football. After revealing the winning score lots of guests were happy to find they’d struck it rich. Ben’s speech was quite simply one of the finest we have heard.

After the desserts it was time to cut the cake. Then we quickly went out to play in the hotel’s garden to take some couple shots.

A little bit of indoor confetti during the First Dance. Not what we were expecting, but fun nevertheless.

“(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”.

Posted with thanks and congratulations to Jodie and Ben. We hope you’re having an amazing road trip! x

Yesterday we made our way back to Rhinefield House in the New Forest for Jodie and Ben’s wedding. Here’s a first look at the bride… And that’s just for the hair!

The Wedding of Cath and Carl at Rhinefield House

On Easter weekend we headed back over to Rhinefield House in the New Forest for Cath and Carl’s wedding. It was a day for family and friends and we were pleased they were able to make the most of the garden in the sun.

This was a half day for us, so we started our coverage just before the ceremony (which took place in Grand Hall) and finished the day off with the speeches.

Weirdly, we were at Rhinefield House on exactly the same date last year for Hayley and Martin’s wedding. It looked really different around the grounds and just showed off what a warm spring we’ve had - the blossoms were in full bloom compared to the little buds we had in 2010.

In true Easter spirit there was an Easter Egg hunt which proved extremely popular with the kids (there were plenty of overflowing chocolate baskets) as well as a chocolate wedding cake for the grown-ups.

Here are some shots from their day…
