Trudy and Scott first got in touch with us after tracking us down on Rock My Wedding’s Love Lust List. Based in Essex, they were heading down to Dorset for a little holiday and had the idea of having a shoot somewhere special to them – Durdle Door.

Little did they know when they were last here on their Geography field trip, exchanging numbers, that the next time they’d be back would be to celebrate their engagement. They’ll be getting hitched later on this year and we’ll be making our way over to Essex for their day at Gaynes Park Wedding Barn and Orangery.

We’d exchanged a number of emails and chatted over the phone but we met Trudy and Scott for the first time at the Lulworth Cove Inn. It’s so easy to forget how rammed Lulworth gets over the summer season and the beaches were packed with coach trip tourists. We just had to find our own little spaces and spent a couple of hours wandering around the Cove and over to Durdle Door, shooting as we went.

A word of advice for anyone thinking of having a stroll around Durdle Door – don’t wear sandals! Trudy and I had such a traumatic time trying to make our way over the stoney beach. Plimsolls all the way!

A big thank you too to Ian for carrying all of our kit (including our picnic provisions) up the most hardcore track in Dorset.
