We embraced the romance last weekend with the Valentine’s Day wedding of Laura and James at Langtry Manor in Bournemouth. Sunday didn’t really live up to its name, but luckily as the evening do was to be held at Langtry Lodge, just over the road from the hotel, it didn’t matter too much it was a little rainy.
Things kicked off with me heading over to Laura’s Mums to catch all the girls (including five bridesmaids) getting ready, whilst Ian got a turn at playing Paparazzi hiding in our car to document the arrival of James’ surprise Lamborghini. Laura let us know about the Groom’s special pre-wedding present beforehand but we had to do some sneaky prep work to work out the logistics of the morning’s events without blowing the cover.

Lots of lovely beaded detail on Laura’s dress.

The very bubbly and lovely bride, Laura.

There’s always space for more bubbles though - especially those of a Bucks Fizz and Pink Cava nature.

James liked his Lamborghini. Phew! Ian.. you can stop playing detectives now.

Time to get the dress and jewellery on.

With only ten minutes until the cars arrived everybody was getting a little excited.

The ceremony took place at Langtry Manor in Bournemouth. It’s a pretty perfect place for a Valentine’s Day wedding as the building was built by King Edward VII for his mistress Lillie Langtry.

Nerves soon settled as soon as the Bridesmaids and Ushers made their grand entrance.

Closely followed by Laura and her Dad.

Laura and James packed out the ceremony room with all their family and friends with onlookers also on the gallery balcony.

Laura’s Dad filled the room with some excellent trumpet playing after the registers had been signed.

More drinkies.

Langtry Manor always manages to do an impressive room turnaround for the reception. The room was filled with lots of Valentine’s details, with a colour theme of pink and red.

Even the upstairs balcony was kitted up to cater for more guests.

The speeches took place before the meal to get the formals out of the way before consuming all that yummy food. We have experienced the culinary delights of Langtry Manor first hand before and can vouch for the fact they’re able to whip up some top nosh.

Desserts done and dusted the wedding party made their way over to Langtry Lodge to get the party started, and what a party it was! I don’t think we’ve ever seen such a rammed dance floor so early on. These folks knew how to have a good time.

Laura’s Mum, Kim revved up the party by being one of the first to karaoke. We think she’s done that before - she was a bit of a pro!

Ah… a lovely group man hug.

Not ashamed to say I was bouncing away whilst I was shooting to a barrage of Disco classics. However, even with a bit of Kool & The Gang, there’s a job to be finished.

Hoping you had the best Valentine’s Day ever, Laura and James!

We shot our first wedding of 2010 yesterday - and what better way to get into the swing of it than with a Valentine’s wedding? We loved the fact Laura and James made the most of the day with a bright and vibrant colour palette of reds and pinks. Lots more to follow soon, but in the meantime enjoy a shot of Laura’s extra special jewellery.

This morning some samples of one of our new bundled products arrived and they look the business! These coffee table books with matching keepsake box will come as standard for all full day weddings from November - the whole package feels really special.
Measuring 12×9″ the chic coffee table book fits snug into the box and is big enough to show off all your favourite wedding photos, but not too big you can’t store it safely on a shelf.
We have some more new products heading our way, so once we’ve got the full batch ready to view we’ll do a meatier blog post and take a closer look at their design.

What better way to warm up for wedding season, which starts for us next week, then to … err …run round after an energetic puppy in a muddy field?!
Bruno the dog belongs to 2009 Big Bouquet Bride and Groom Lisa and Mark, whose wedding we shot at Compton Acres in Poole last Spring.Since they tied the knot we were delighted to discover, via good old Twitter, that they’d expanded their family with this bouncing barker. I jumped at the chance to get some photos of him whilst he still had his puppy energy and quite happily slid around in a muddy Upton Country Park this morning to capture him running riot with all his toys.
I’m more likely to be pointing my camera towards a bouquet than a bone and won’t hide the fact I’ve never really dabbled in pet photography before other than obsessively taking snaps of my own cat and hamsters. Bruno is a lot faster than these. With his early morning energy levels at 100 per cent he certainly kept me on my toes (especially as I’m getting over foot surgery at the moment and aren’t the quickest of movers).
It was lots of fun.

Bruno is normally such a fluffy, soft dog. However, Upton Country Park is like a mud pit. We take this opportunity to apologise to Lisa and Mark for the inevitable post-shoot doggy bath.

I love these two. So cute. Check out his big front footsies.

Butter wouldn’t melt.

A little bit tired now…

It was lovely to enjoy the fun with Bruno and thanks to Lisa and Mark for being such great doggie handlers (and to Ian for cleaning my trainers).
