On a lovely, crisp sunny Sunday morning we met up with Kat and Matt whose wedding we’re shooting at the end of October. First of all there’s going to be a grand church ceremony at St Saviours in Brockenhurst, we’ll be treated to a drive through the New Forest and the reception will be held at the Lord Bute in Christchurch.
Although it’s so close to home, we’ve never shot at the Lord Bute before (I’m ashamed to say I’d never even heard of it!) and we’re in for a treat with some brilliant interiors, including motel-style mini houses for the bridal preps and some couple shots. It’s brilliant there.
And to the random lady we encountered during our recce who commented we were in a “very strange place to be taking photos”. It’s all about the context, Mrs.
We’re looking forward to your sunny, happy day, guys!

For the first of our two wedding preps this weekend we made our way over to the Bourton in Dorset back to the lovely Chaffeymoor Grange. We did our first shoot here almost a year ago for the wedding of Zina and Chris from Australia where we were blown away by the beautiful house, the chilled house-party atmosphere and the fact we had access to the open kitchen to make ourselves a cup of tea. An excellent set up.
We love it so much there we are so excited to be going back from Emma and Guy’s wedding and it’s just as great as we remembered. We spent a little time getting familiar with the rooms and the grounds with Emma and Guy and just generally catching up with the ins and outs of the day. The Grange is available for house parties and the staff were busy making sure everything was perfect for a group that were arriving so we didn’t have long to hang around, but we managed a quick shoot of the happy couple before we headed back.
Fingers crossed we have lovely weather that weekend to make the most of the open landscape and play around with the Autumn sunset.

November marks the start of a new year for us and it’s an excellent time to reassess our presentation items and check out some new products. After a good while looking around for a new album product to offer we settled on these lovely Bellissimo albums and presentation box. They’re perfect.
We love tailoring our books to suit the style of each wedding and like the freedom of being able to make all our covers look different rather that use a template. The Bellissimo albums give us as much flexibility to get creative as our coffee table books, with the added bonus of being able to create an eye-catching presentation box too!
We’re going to use the same design and proofing system as we provide for our books. So, if you order these babies we’ll go ahead and layout an initial design, choose a colour scheme and any pattern we think shows off your shots well and then let you view an animation proof so you can have your say too!

It quite difficult to get across how luxurious these albums and boxes are. Both the album and box have a padded cover so bouncy you could use it as a pillow. Don’t underestimate the size of these beggars. The one photographed here is an enormous 12″ x 12″, but we have other, smaller sizes available too.

The box does an excellent job of keeping the album all tucked up and safe. But with scope for putting photos and text on the spine it’ll look great standing on a shelf.

The thick card pages well cope with with years of viewing. We have 25 leaves here, but you can opt for more if you think you’d be able to pick it up!

The gutter lays flat so there’s plenty of opportunity for mixed page layouts and can create some nice spreads.

We can even create double-page spreads. This pic measures a whopping 24″ x 12″.

The albums have a good, sturdy leather spine so they’ll stand the test of time.

We’ll be offering the Bellissimo Album and the Presentation Box as separate items so it will be possible to team a box up with one of our Coffee Table Books if you prefer.
Stay tuned for more shots of our Coffee Table Books and an example of our online proofing service shortly.

Last Saturday we headed back to the Salvation Army Hall in Boscombe, Bournemouth to photograph the wedding of Karen and Adrian. These two are normally found playing the Cornet in the Salvation Army Brass Band, but on this special occasion they were going to be able to stand back and enjoy the music at their own wedding.
A couple of hours before the ceremony took place I made my way to Karen’s parents house to snap up some bridal preparations, meet the folks and snap up some of the finer details of Karen and her bridesmaids’ dresses.
I went a little abstract to start with…

In the front room, the bride was getting her hair styled by Tracy and Hayley of Brideshair.co.uk.

Meanwhile, the bridesmaids got themselves dressed…

…laquered…

…and make-up’d.

The buttons on Karen’s dress were so teeny tiny that they had to be done up with a crochet needle. Not sure how this problem was resolved in the evening.

Of course, Dad needed to make sure he was presentable too.

Love this one.

At the Salvation Army Hall, Ian met up with Adrian (left) and Kevin right.

The next door neighbours popped round to present the Bride with a good-luck gift.

Then it was time to head to the hall. I squeezed in the front of this Beauford. Then, once the bridesmaids had been dropped off it went back for Karen and her Dad.

The waiting congregation were treated to the brilliant Salvation Army Hall Brass Band.

Ian was on the balcony whilst I stayed up front.

When we left the hall it was noticeably a lot windier! Then, after a bit of mingling we made our way to the Heathlands Hotel in Bournemouth.

After a drink and some family shots in the garden the room was pretty much ready for the guests to enjoy the wedding breakfast.

Speeches came first though…

Kevin, the Best Man (and Groom’s Brother) gave a lovely speech complete with old family snaps on a projector screen.

Brotherly love.

He also presented the newly weds with the most brilliant gift for their walls. I was incredibly impressed with the thought that went behind this. Outstanding!

It was getting on in the day after everyone had been fed and we were reminded that it’s really not summer any more. The light was drawing in, but luckily we only had a few spits of rain and a veil-loving wind to contend with.

Gotta love the beach huts! They gave us some good shelter and plenty of colour.

OK. I just want to make this absolutely clear. I did not ask Adrian to point at the word “Fruit”.

Back at the hotel the evening reception got underway. The pick and mix proved popular.

But we all know what artificial colouring does to you.

Possibly the shortest First Dance in the history of man. One verse into the song everyone else piled onto the dance floor.

Hehe. Cheeky.

Looks like it was going to be a good night.

Thanks so much for letting us share our day with you, Karen and Adrian. You were much fun to be around and Karen… I know you say you don’t ever smile but I think we caught you out a couple of times, don’t you?
