It was another glorious weekend down in Bournemouth and a perfect day for the wedding of Julie and Ben at the Riviera Hotel near Alum Chine. Most of the day was spent indoors, which was probably for the best as it did get quite stifling, but we managed to kick off our shoes and cool off down the beach (as you’ll see later).
Julie didn’t want a full bridal prep shoot, but as she was getting ready upstairs from the ceremony I popped up whilst she and her bridesmaids were carrying out their final touches for just a couple of snaps.

The ceremony took place in a lovely sunny corner of the hotel with a glass ceiling, almost like a conservatory. It offered up some stunning views of the perfect blue sea. This complemented the lovely pastel shades of both the bride’s and her bridemaids’ dresses.

It was a very relaxed ceremony

After some reception drinks and family photos the room had been turned around for the wedding breakfast. I was immediately drawn to the cupcakes!

So everyone could relax and eat their meal without nerves the speeches were first.

Obviously something in the Best Man’s speech embarrassed Ben!

After popping up to the Honeymoon Suite to retrieve the bridal flip-flops

we took some time out after the meal to head down to Alum Chine. As it’s a favourite BBQ spot for locals this part of Bournemouth beach was far busier than the spot we had the week before at our wedding at the East Cliff, and a little smokier. Still, we just worked around everyone! As that part of the beach curves around towards Sandbanks it was still a bit too bright at 7pm especially as the sky was cloudless. But of course, we’re blessed with beautiful blue seas. Who needs Hawaii?

Julie didn’t take much persuasion to go for a dip.

Nothing like a paddle on your wedding day!

I’m not sure what’s going on here. I was just getting my exposure!

Poor Ben was suffering quite badly from hayfever, but we still managed a couple of shots in the Chine before making our way back to the Riviera for the start of the evening celebrations and the First Dance.

Posted with thanks and congratulations to Mr and Mrs Wharton

It’s been a busy weekend for us, although we did still manage to catch some of the gorgeous Bournemouth sun on the beach yesterday afternoon. On Saturday we spent the day in Alum Chine at the Riviera Hotel for the wedding of Julie and Ben (more on that shortly - it was a scorcher of a day!). Then on Sunday morning we met up with Perri and Garrett at the St Leonard’s Hotel where they will be getting married in a few weeks time. Here are just a quick couple of head and shoulders shots we took in the grounds after we’d had a catch up and worked through the final details of their day.
